How Does Morse Code Translation Work?
Morse Code is a method of telecommunication invented by Samuel Morse in the 1830s. It encodes text characters into standardized sequences of short signals called dots (or "dits", represented by •) and long signals called dashes (or "dahs", represented by —).
The International Morse Code standard follows precise timing ratios:
- A dash (
—) duration equals three dots (•••). - The space between elements of the same letter is equal to one dot duration.
- The space between different letters is equal to three dots.
- The space between words is equal to seven dots.
